Tankfarm is focused on a segment of the retail propane market that most propane marketers overlook - the residential customer owned tank market. The stereotype of these accounts is that they’re overly price-conscious and not interested in quality of service or safety. The Tankfarm system produces customers who are the opposite. Our users are tech savvy, high-income, heavy propane users who value price transparency, ease of use, and high-touch customer service.
Propane is already one of the best fuel choices for consumers wishing to reduce their carbon footprint. Tankfarm makes that choice even clearer by ensuring that 100% of the propane used by our customers is offset by high-quality carbon reduction credits. To accomplish carbon neutrality, Tankfarm has partnered with Cool Effect, a crowdfunding carbon reduction company that identifies and works with the world’s best carbon reducing programs. Each month we report to Cool Effect our customers’ total usage of propane, and purchase the needed credits for total offset.
Tankfarm uses monitors the same way a lot of propane suppliers do - to provide timely deliveries for our customers. But Tankfarm’s commitment to monitoring is also an extension of our mission to reduce our impact on the environment. By some estimates monitors can reduce the total number of propane deliveries our customers receive by 40% or more. Fewer deliveries means less fuel and tire usage by delivery vehicles. That means happier customers, more profit for our fulfillment partners, and a cleaner and safer environment for all of us.
